The Nangarhar Beekeepers Association (NBA) was established in 2007 in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The Nangarhar Beekeepers Association (NBA) plays a crucial role in promoting and supporting beekeeping in the region. As of the latest available data, the NBA comprises 800 male beekeepers and 200 female beekeepers, collectively managing approximately 50,000 bee hives. Annually, these dedicated beekeepers produce an impressive1000 tons of honey. Beekeeping is one of the traditional and profitable agri-businesses and there are many people are involved in this business which generates sufficient income to feed their families. People involved in this business have many challenges including technical deficiency, and lack of markets.

President
Riaz Mohammad was elected as the President of the Nangarhar Beekeepers Association. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in guiding the association and its activities.

Said Hassan assumed the role of Vice President, working closely with the President to support the NBA's mission and goals.

The association is further supported by a board of directors, which includes the President, Vice President, and 12 additional board members. This diverse board of directors plays a crucial role in shaping the direction and activities of the NBA, ensuring that the interests and needs of local beekeepers are well represented.
Since its inception, the NBA has been dedicated to empowering beekeepers, promoting ethical beekeeping practices, and actively contributing to the growth and sustainability of the local beekeeping industry. The leadership team and board members work together to achieve these objectives and create a supportive community of beekeepers in the Eastern region of Afghanistan.
